Meet Wanda Ladson-Smith, LMSW

Individual, Couples & Family Therapist

Life can be challenging, and there are times when the weight of anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, or family conflict can leave you feeling overwhelmed, discouraged, or unsure of what to do next. Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, I believe you deserve a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment.

My goal is to help you move beyond simply getting through each day. Together, we'll explore the challenges you're facing, identify the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools that help you experience greater peace, healthier relationships, and renewed hope. I strive to create an environment where you feel safe enough to be honest, ask difficult questions, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship conflict, parenting concerns, substance use, domestic violence, grief, and life transitions. Whether you're working through emotional pain, rebuilding trust in your relationship, strengthening communication, or navigating family challenges, I am committed to walking alongside you throughout your healing journey.

My approach is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and create lasting change. I believe that every person has strengths to build upon, and together we'll work toward helping you feel more confident, connected, and empowered.

I bring more than 30 years of experience serving children, families, and communities in both clinical and leadership roles. I earned my Master of Social Work from Howard University and my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hampton University. Throughout my career, I have remained passionate about helping individuals and families find hope, healing, and resilience during life's most difficult seasons.

When I'm not in the office, I enjoy traveling, listening to music, camping, golfing, discovering new restaurants, and spending quality time with my husband.

I know that taking the first step toward counseling can feel difficult, but you don't have to face life's challenges alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you work toward healing, stronger relationships, and lasting hope.
